http://www.Thegalleriesatmoore.org
This site is based out of The Moore College of Art and Design (for women) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The more I look at this site the more I like it.  It has a children’s interactive page that has a link to painting elephants among many other things.  There is a Directory that gives access to: Virtual tours, calendar and exhibitions, Only Online- youth poetry project, youth cartoon project and Children’s activities page already mensioned.  There are 2 galleries with exhibition history and there is an open forum to post to.  Students would need to be supervised in this site except for the children’s activities page.  It is best to go directly to: http://thegalleriesatmoore.org/activities/index.shtml

This is the Taft Museum of Art in Cincinnati, Ohio.  The site is limited on  interactive activities.  They have some famous art converted to line drawings so that you can print it out and color it.  The resources are not on line but physically at the museum.  However, the collection is on line and is good.

This is the art institute of Chicago.  I looked at the museum side, not the school.  I entered the collections area and the headings are:  view art, read, play, explore, discover, and interact. The games are good for younger kids, the explore tab is a virtual camera in the gallery that you can move around.  The site is nice and easy to get around in.

This is the Cleveland Museum of Art in Ohio.  They have what is called an “Asian Odyssey”, which is an entire program dedicated to teaching about Asian art.  It has lesson plans and correlates to their collection.  There is an interactive part about the Rosetta Stone that is good.  The coolest thing is the interactive video conferencing in real time – so you can visit the museum from anywhere and learn about their collection.

This is a great art history listing.

This is the Philosophers Forum.  A great interactive tool to discuss Plato, Rome, What is beauty?  Great way to introduce philosophy and aesthetics to students.
